I had a very positive experience. After filling out the application, I emailed the foster for more info on the cat I was interested in. Then we spoke on the phone at length & I followed up with a visit. I adopted the cat & although she was very frightened at first, by the 2nd day we were friends. I very pleased with her. She is very affectionate.

These guys are a great rescue. We applied for two cats and someone was with us within the same day to communicate that our application was on its way through the process. We appreciate how involved this rescue is with keeping the priority on the cats themselves. Even down to meeting the foster parent- the rescue leaves the decision in their hands. We cannot appreciate that enough- it absolutely should be within their range as they have been with their foster kitty for months. Everyone was prompt in communication and straightforward. In the future, when we have a bigger home, we hope to make the same impact as the foster families and this rescue has done for our community 🙂

I received a prompt response to my application. Within a day I had a very pleasant conversation and learned Domino was still available, my questions were all answered. I was informed about the interview process, and the whole process was a positive experience. I was informed that the foster caregiver would be the next person to arrange a visit.. Although she was on vacation she still reached out to me and scheduled a home visit the next day following her return. My daughter and 16 years of age granddaughter accompanied me and we had a very happy visit. The kitten was in good health, the environment clean and well cared for, the family welcoming. Domino was just as described, i.e. very friendly, enjoyed petting , playing, was loving and gentle and we quickly knew that this was the very pet we had hoped to find. Domino’s foster caregiver was very friendly, efficient and informative in the paper process, and we were happy to return home with a new member of our family. At present he has adjusted well, i.e. he eats well, enjoys playing with toys and people, wants to be held and petted, and has decided that my bed is where he wants to cuddle and enjoy the night. We are very pleased with him and the whole process.

I thought the entire process and the folks who were involved with my application were extremely fast and attentive, and that really made the process more enjoyable and progressed faster. The help I received from everyone especially the fosters with regards to the kitty personalities was a big help because my list of ‘possibles’ was a long one. For me, being able to see so many on my list in one place (Pat’s via Shirley) was a real plus and it really made the selection process so much easier. The only drawback was mine, because as a kitty-lover you just want to adopt them all! There were so many ‘sweethearts’ all in one place that even though I found a wonderful new family member, I knew I was leaving behind so many other likewise wonderful kitties that deserved a loving home. All the kitties I saw were well cared for and the fosters really knew them, and that was a big help in whittling down to that ‘Special One’.

The application process and screening happened a lot faster than I expected which I greatly appreciated after having a previous kitten adoption fall through due to foster failure. The initial kitten we went to meet was not totally interested in us but we were able to find another with the help of the same foster mom. She got our selected kitten ready to go as soon as she could and we’re so happy to have her home with us now. The fosters seem to put a lot of love and care into getting these kittens ready for their forever homes and I will definitely look to adopt from this rescue again in the future for this reason.

It was such an excellent experience. LCCR volunteers were very efficient and responsive to my questions. The foster parent was also very knowledgeable and helpful as I’m a first-time cat owner. It’s also clear that they are committed in finding the right fit. I was initially interested in another cat, but LCCR had everyone’s interests in mind when they had to direct me to some other cats. We rescued Ziggy and Gibson and we got them through their foster mom. We were looking to add a cat to our family and eventually wanted to get a second cat. When we met Ziggy and Gibson, we knew they were perfect for us! Their foster mom was very communicative and answered all of our questions.
